Marianna is an attorney in the firm’s Transactional Department focusing on corporate and trust and estate matters. She advises on trust and estate planning and administration, asset protection strategies, and long-term care planning, and provides assistance in the firm’s counsel of corporate transactions including business formations and acquisitions. Her work focuses on crafting tailored estate and business plans that address the long term needs of client’s, their families and businesses.
Marianna earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Connecticut and her Juris Doctorate with a tax law concentration from Quinnipiac University School of Law. In law school, Marianna served as President of Moot Court, Publication Editor for the Quinnipiac Probate Law Journal, Volunteer Tax Preparer with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, and an intern with the Quinnipiac University School of Law Tax Clinic, where she represented clients facing various tax issues. She also interned with the City of New Haven Corporation Counsel and RSM LLP in their Research & Development Tax Credit team. Marianna earned numerous academic honors including Distinguished Academic Achievement in Financial Planning: Principles and Taxation; the Marci Karbane Moot Court Award for her success in Moot Court; Excellence in Clinical Education; and recognition for her Service to the Law School.
With a passion for supporting fellow first-generation students, Marianna serves as a Mentor with the University of Connecticut College of Liberal Arts and Sciences First-Generation Mentor Program, where she provides guidance to first-generation students navigating their undergraduate programs and preparing for post-graduate degrees. She also volunteers as a judge with the American Moot Court Association.
She is licensed to practice in Connecticut and is an active member of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Trust & Estates, Business Law, and Young Lawyers Sections.
Outside the office, Marianna is learning to speak, read and write Greek and enjoys cheering on the UConn Women’s Basketball team, discovering new coffee shops, and spending time with her friends and family.
