The firm

A New Haven law firm for problems that cross practice lines.

Green & Sklarz was built to handle the matters that don't fit neatly inside one department — tax controversies with insolvency exposure, business disputes with fiduciary overlays, estate matters with unfiled returns behind them.

The firm's founding partners, Eric L. Green and Jeffrey M. Sklarz, built their practices in the two areas where federal and state agencies meet private businesses under the most pressure: civil and criminal tax enforcement, and bankruptcy. That combination has shaped the way the firm is organized ever since.

Green & Sklarz represents individuals, closely held businesses, executives, fiduciaries, and family enterprises across Connecticut and the New York metropolitan area. The work ranges from IRS Appeals conferences to Chapter 11 confirmations, from shareholder trials to trust-and-estate planning for owners of operating businesses.

Every engagement is staffed with senior attention. Cases stay with the attorneys who are accountable for the outcome; there is no marketing partner who hands the file to a junior team after intake.

What we believe about legal work

Most serious problems clients bring to us are not single-issue problems. A collection notice is also a cash-flow problem. A shareholder dispute is also a valuation problem and often a tax problem. An estate matter is often an unfiled-return problem. Treating those as one problem, staffed by one team, is the reason we practice under a single roof.
