On Sunday night Purdue Pharma L.P. filed Chapter 11 seeking protection from more than 2,600 state and federal lawsuits. Purdue Pharma L.P. is the maker of OxyContin, the drug widely seen as igniting the opioid crisis. This after the company proposed settling most of the suits for $10 Billion. The Chapter 11 filing and proposed settlement is expected to be challenged by many state Attorney Generals.
