Criminal Tax Investigations: The Fine Line Between Avoidance and Evasion

Friday, December 6th, 2019 - Residence Inn by Marriott Boston Natick

Tax enforcement is a critical aspect of our voluntary tax system.  For those who are willing to cross the line and violate the law the risk of criminal prosecution is there.  Join us for a special two-hour update on criminal investigations and its priorities for 2020.  Joining Attorney Eric Green will be Kristina O’Connell, special Agent in Charge of the Boston Field Office for IRS Criminal Investigations.  Kristina and eric will explain what practitioners can expect in the coming year, where the blurry line is between good tax planning vs. criminal conspiracy, and  how accountants can play a critical role in criminal tax cases.
